Air-cooled ceramic resistors, like ceramic insulated resistors, use 80/20 1100ºC chrome-nickel wire, steatite belt stone and stainless outer sheath. In addition, it consists of a reflector to distribute the air evenly, a high-flow monophase or three-phase fan and an air outlet duct.
Air-cooled resistors are mostly used in the industry for melting plastic materials in extrusion lines. Their most important feature is that they are air-cooled, so they provide an advantage in keeping the temperature regulation close to the set values.
Ceramic insulated air-cooled resistors are used in the processing of polymers that are more difficult to melt, up to a maximum of 8W/cm2. They can be used safely.
