Temperature measurements in automation systems is a very important issue and its importance increases day by day. Temperature is an important variable because it triggers many physical properties. In these cases, special devices must be used to measure very high or very low temperatures, one of these devices is a thermocouple. As can be understood from the definition, a thermocouple is a sensor that measures temperature.
Thermocouples are designed for temperature measurement based on thermoelectric effects, which can measure from -200 degrees to +2300 degrees. When examined in terms of structure, thermocouples are temperature measurement sensors formed by welding two different alloys end to end. While the welded joint point is called the hot point, the two open end points on the opposite side are called the cold point. The cold point is also called the reference point.
There are bayonet, mantel, metal pipe sheathed, head type, fitting, syalon sheathed and ceramic pipe types.
